The mapping to an IFC type can be overridden using the IFC_Override property, in the following manner:

• For a datagroup catalog item in the Catalog Editor.
  
  
  
• For an instance in the applicable Modify Properties dialog.
  
  
  

Clicking in the field in the Value column opens the IFC Entities Classifications pull-down dialog. Search using the classification string and scroll to pick the required classification and double click to apply the value to override property.
